Tyra just got it.
Her and her family had moved into a newly-built home about one year before she called us. They hadn’t put much thought into their pantry when building, knowing they would put more time, effort, and money into the space after they had a chance to settle into their new home.
When Tyra was ready to take on the space, she contacted a local cabinet company to design her new dream pantry. After receiving the plans, she was underwhelmed. During a conversation with her husband about what she wanted to do, she mentioned bringing in a professional organizer to get a second opinion about the design.
Tyra was astute enough to recognize that a professional organizer would possess a deeper understanding of the space and could get better acquainted with her than a cabinet designer who visited her for only a few minutes.
Thanks to some Google sleuthing, Tyra found us and invited us to come look at the space. During our planning meeting, I complimented her forethought to know we could add an experienced perspective to the design AND be able to customize the space to her every need. After a sorting & editing session, we put paper to pencil and came up with a few design options in partnership with our friends at California Closets.
The new pantry became an extension of Tyra’s kitchen and allowed her to proudly keep the door open (two of her goals for the space). We customized the dimensions to allow for a future new coffee maker, get her pizza peels out of the basement and into the light, and even provided her a baking station where her mixing bowls, ingredients, measurements cups, and mixer are all within reach. Icing on the cake.
“After Lisa left, I stood in my pantry and just giddily admired the categorization. I can’t stop looking at it!”
